Hi, I'm Angie

My journey began during a summer vacation in Italy, during my creative corporate gap year. I found inspiration in an unexpected place: navigating everyday life in Italy. From chatting with neighbours to managing our apartment, I quickly realised that speaking Italian was a must, as surprisingly few speak English. That is when I saw a gap for a practical, everyday Italian resource that can be casually read on holiday — so I decided to create one! My first book "Seconda Casa - Easy Italian for Living Like a Local" launched in January 2025, and I am already writing several other Italian novels.

I want my language learning books to feel less like textbooks and more like fun and casual vacation reads. Books that transport you to sun-soaked cafes and vibrant streets while naturally introducing you to a new language. Frustrated with buying too many books that are too difficult to read, and requires constantly looking up words, I also have a goal when I write to make sure the language is easy to understand with no complex verbs or words. This way you can effortlessly improve your fluency, without feeling like you are studying.

Through my publishing house CiaoHello Books, I now help authors (starting with myself) bring their unique language learning stories to life. We are creating a community of language enthusiasts who believe learning should be part of their travel adventure. Being able to speak or read a bit of the language heightens the experience of being abroad, as you can understand more of what is going on around you and interact with locals.
